Veteran’s Coffee Every Thursday at 9 a.m.

Children’s Events
Rhythm Rhyme & Storytime on Mondays at 10 a.m. Through May 19, 2025. Join us for an exciting and enriching experience designed specifically for preschool-age children! Each activity is thoughtfully crafted to promote social skills development and enhance hand-eye coordination, ensuring that your little ones not only learn but also have a blast! We welcome all preschoolers, regardless of their background or abilities, to join in the fun and make lasting connections with their peers.
Boogie Crew (ages preK-7 years) by Joyce Triche – 2nd & 4th Thursday each month at 3:30 p.m.
Join us for an exciting “Follow the Leader” dance class designed especially for our youngest community members, ages 0-7! This engaging experience not only sparks joy through movement but also promotes essential skills like learning colors, skipping, and mastering body movements, as well as numbers and following directions.

Monthly Events
Namaste Book Club: Meets offsite after Yoga meetings –several days during the month.
Card Game Night: Every Third Thursday at 6 p.m. We invite families and individuals of all ages to join us for an evening filled with board games, card games, and so much more! Be part of a vibrant gathering that enhances the quality of life for all our patrons.

The thrill of checking out books opens up a world of new stories, inviting children to expand their imaginations and dive into exciting narratives. Moreover, our extensive library resources are invaluable tools that can enhance their learning journey, supporting their educational aspirations. At WCPL, we are committed to fostering a community-focused mission, ensuring that our library remains a safe and inclusive space where lifelong learning is celebrated for all.


Christine M. Boles, our dedicated Branch Manager, plays a pivotal role in our efforts to secure grant funding for the Stokes County Summer Learning Program funded by A Stokes United Grant.

Friends of the Library
Our Friend’s Group is an excellent and supportive group that holds numerous fundraisers throughout the year and is very instrumental in organizing important events at the library. The group is always looking for new members to join. The only requirement is to be a library user and lover!
The Friends meet at 6:30 p.m. the first Monday in March, June, and the third Monday of September.
Our dues are $5.00 per year. Any money we raise through fundraisers and membership dues contributes to projects in the library.
Services & Information
We have a large variety of fiction, nonfiction, biographies, young adult, juvenile fiction, juvenile non-fiction and Reference books. Our collection includes audiobooks, Playaways, ebooks available through our Libby app and NC Kids, DVDs, magazines, and puzzles. Up to 7 DVDs can be checked out per library card for 7 days with a 7 day renewal.

- Chromebooks & Hotspots are available for checkout
- ABC Mouse and Ancestry.com are available for in-house use.
- Copying, Scanning & Laminating: Copies are $0.15 for black & white or $0.25 for color. Scanning documents is free. Lamination costs vary per job.
- Fax: outgoing faxes: $1.50 for first page, $0.75 each additional page. Incoming faxes: $0.75 for first page, $0.35 for each additional page
- Laptops available for use in the Library
- Literacy Lab: We now have a literacy and learning lab available to our school age students, college students, teachers, and parents or tutoring, test-taking and classwork. We are able to proctor college exams and proofread papers.
- Meeting Rooms: The conference room seats up to 70 people and we have a 75 inch Samsung Smart TV that can be used for educational meetings and events. Reserve it for your group today! The Small Meeting Room seats up to 12 people.
- NC LIVE is available for in-library or at-home use.
- Reading Nook: Need a place to relax and read a good book? Come in and enjoy our reading nook.
- Study Rooms: Need a quiet place to study? Come use our study room. No reservation needed. The Study Room seats 4 people.
- Voter Registration Forms & Tax Forms: Tax forms are seasonal.
