What’s happening at the Charles H. Stone Memorial Library
Each October, National Book Month allows us to celebrate and expand our love of reading. As the warm temperatures start to leave us for the winter, it’s the perfect time to put on some cozy slippers, have a cup of tea (or wine) and curl up on the couch with a good book. It’s easy to get caught up in the busyness of everyday life and forget to enjoy the little things. Many of us put our relaxing hobbies like reading on the backburner, but this month, pick up a few new books and make time to read them.
It’s a great hobby to get into!

Book Clubs
October 15 at 11 a.m. – Third Thursday Book Club (at the tables by Adult Fiction)– We will be reading “Cedar City Young Historians” written by authors Glenda Younger and Emily Morgan.
“ Middle school brings plenty of chaos, but things get truly wild for the Young Historians when they deal with a 150-year-old ghost girlfriend, a grandfather in circus tights, missing paintings, and a Marie Antoinette tiara.”
Saturday, October 24 at 4 p.m. – meeting at the Tilted Ladder – Calling all armchair detectives! Join us for a monthly deep dive into dark tales, unsolved mysteries and page turning thrillers! October’s selection is, “If You Tell: If You Tell: A True Story of Murder, Family Secrets, and the Unbreakable Bond of Sisterhood“ by Gregg Olsen.

Every Monday at 6 p.m. – Wear your P.J.s and hear a story! Pajama Storytime will take place upstairs in the children’s area.
Tuesdays at 4 p.m. – Come relax at the library and read Arlo a book!

October 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. – Pumpkin Carving & Crafting Night w/ movies & snacks
October 29 at 6:30 p.m. – Campfire Stories at Pilot Mountain State Park

** Pumpkin Art Contest- Deadline to enter is October 30 at 4 p.m. – (Drop off at the library) Prize is a fun boo basket- full of goodies!
