POSITION: Branch Library Manager

BRANCH: Elkin Public Library

HOURS: Forty (40) hours per week. Evening hours and some Saturdays

SALARY: Annual salary is $35,267 to the end of a successful 6-month orientation period when it will increase to 2.5% to $36,171 depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include paid holidays, vacations, and sick leave; insurance; membership in the North Carolina Retirement System.

NATURE OF JOB:

Oversees staffing and daily operations of the Elkin Public Library. Work involves performing administrative functions, supervising 3.5 FTEs, assisting the public including with computer/technology; leading programming planning for all ages and overseeing building maintenance. Strong technology abilities including social media required. Must have knowledge of basic library tasks. Must be a team player and be able to work closely with the Library Board, Friends group, Town/County officials, and Regional administration/ NWRL system. Excellent customer service and creative community-focus required. Additional duties as assigned. Reports to Director, Northwestern Regional Library.

TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree preferred, and 2 or more years of experience in public library work; preferably some experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and ability.
