Whether you're updating your resume, searching for job listings, or exploring career development resources, the experts from NCWorks are here to help.


  • Holiday Hearts Local Author Talk and Crafts Saturday, December 7th ( 11-1 pm) Downstairs Community Room - Celebrate the season with local author Audrey Lancho! Adults can enjoy Audrey’s talk on her festive new book, Someone Else’s Christmas, while kids create holiday crafts. A perfect multigenerational event to kick off the holiday spirit together!

  • Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Movie Night - Monday, December 9th ( 6:00-7:30 PM ) Downstairs Community Room - Bring the family for a festive Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Movie Night! Enjoy this holiday classic with us, complete with cozy vibes and seasonal treats. A fun evening for all ages!


  • Youth Book Club - Wednesday, December 11th (4:30-5:30pm) Downstairs Community Room - Calling all young readers! Join our Youth Book Club, recommended for ages 7-11, as we dive into Christmas in Camelot by Mary Pope Osborne. This magical adventure with Jack and Annie will take us to a mysterious kingdom filled with quests and enchantment—perfect for the holiday season! Pick up a copy at the circulation desk and read along before our meeting. Don’t miss out on the fun!


  • Christmas Cheer Painting Class - Monday, December 16th (6-8 pm) Downstairs Community Room - Get into the holiday spirit by painting a charming Christmas tree with a “Believe” ornament! This festive class is just $10—pay ahead or on the day. Spots are limited, so call or visit the library to RSVP and bring some holiday cheer to your canvas!

  • Third Thursday Book Club - Thursday, December 19th (11-12 PM) Tables by Adult Fiction - This month, we’re doing reader's choice—come ready to chat about whatever book(s) you’re currently enjoying. It’s the perfect opportunity to share recommendations, discover new reads, and connect with fellow book lovers. Holiday treats will be served, so bring your favorite book and your appetite for good conversation and seasonal cheer!

  • Preschool Story Time - Tuesdays at 10 a.m. - Story Time for preschool children and their caregivers! Join us for a gentle time of stories, songs, crafts, friendship and play. Downstairs Community Room
  • December 3rd - Join us for a cozy Polar Bear Preschool Storytime! We’ll read frosty tales, learn fun facts about polar bears, and enjoy activities inspired by these amazing arctic animals. Perfect for little ones to embrace the winter wonderland spirit! 
  • December 10th - Waddle over for our Penguin-themed Storytime! We’ll dive into delightful stories about our feathered friends from the chilly south and explore a winter wonderland together. Perfect for preschoolers looking for a cool adventure!
  • December 17th - Bring your little ones for a merry Christmas-themed storytime filled with festive tales and holiday fun! Join us as we celebrate the season together—perfect for spreading cheer and making magical memories!


  • The Living Room Stitchers Club - Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to Noon - Whether you're into knitting, crochet, quilting, or cross stitch, bring your project and enjoy good company. Beginners and experts alike are welcome!


  • Arlo the Library Dog - Tuesdays from 3:30 -5:30 p.m. - Arlo, our favorite therapy

  • Youth STEAM Programs with Ms. Lori - Every Thursday (2:30 - 3:30pm) Downstairs Community Room - Unleash your creativity and curiosity with our Youth STEAM Programs led by the amazing Ms. Lori! Designed for ages 6 and up, these hands-on sessions explore exciting Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) concepts through fun, interactive projects. Blessing Box

Anyone in need of food assistance may stop by and help themselves to anything in the box. Community members that want to help may stop by to restock the box. Thanks to Girl Scout Troop 02319 for sharing this with our community!

Community Room

The Warren J. Stone Community Room located on the basement level of the library is provided for the use and benefit of the entire community and is available to rent for parties, showers, weddings, reunions, social occasions, educational classes, meetings and training sessions.

Community Room Policy

The Warren J. Stone Community Room located on the basement level of the library is provided for the use and benefit of the entire community and is available to rent for parties, showers, weddings, reunions, other social occasions, educational classes, meetings and training sessions. Sales events that do not benefit the library are now allowed. The rental cost is $110.00 per day, $35.00 of which is refundable if the key is returned promptly and the room is properly cleaned and is undamaged. As with all the public buildings owned by the Town of Pilot Mountain, the following rules apply: no smoking, no alcoholic beverages and no firearms are allowed.

Please note that the library does not provide paper goods, waste can liners and cleaning supplies for private parties. Those renting the facility are expected to provide their own supplies. All persons renting the facility, and their guests, are required to use the resource in a respectful manner and to carefully observe the following checklist:

● Remove all trash from the kitchen and restrooms. (Waste carts are located on

the utility pad, outside the kitchen door.)

● Replace all trash can liners.

● Flush toilets and rinse sinks.

● Remove items from the refrigerator and freezer.

● Wash, dry and replace in their proper place all used kitchen items.

● Wash all used tables and chairs (as needed).

● Lay all used kitchen linens out on counters to dry. (Library staff will launder.)

● Check the stove and oven to be certain they are off.

● Remove all decorative items from the room.

● Pull tape and crepe paper remnants from the walls and ceilings.

● Sweep and mop the floors. (Brooms and mops are located in the electrical utility

closet near the kitchen.)

● Properly secure the room by locking both the kitchen utility pad door and the

room entrance door.

● Check the window for proper locking.

● Turn off all lights in the room.

● Leave stairwell and outside door lights on for security.

● Promptly return the key to the library staff by the method instructed.

The North Carolina Room holds a collection of historical and genealogical information from Pilot Mountain and surrounding areas.
