Makerspace: Scavenger Hunts

Staying home doesn’t mean there are no more adventures. Currituck and Pamlico County 4-H are excited to announce Knowledge Games, a series of scavenger hunts that will take 4-Hers all around the world. Participants will tour through some amazing institutions, exploring themes of leadership, health, and citizenship, as well as learning about the natural world, all from their own home. There will be nine scavenger hunts over nine weeks, each with its own theme.

From favorite backyard games like freeze tag to the always-popular Uno cards, Play-Doh, and Kinetic Sand, there are plenty of great activities for kids to take part in. One more must-do for every parent's list? A scavenger hunt.

Looking for ideas to keep your kids busy AND get them engaged with the natural world? Nature scavenger hunts are easy to organize and provide independent play for kids of all ages.

Looking for ways to entice kids outside to take in some fresh air and burn off some surplus energy? An outdoor scavenger hunt is a timeless classic. Depending on the age of your kids and how many are participating, you can make it a friendly competition, or perhaps just come up with some rewards for completing the hunt (some screen time, coins or dollar bills, etc.)
