POSITION: Library Assistant – King
PLACE: King Public Library
HOURS: Twenty (20) hours per week. Evening hours and some Saturdays required.
SALARY: Annual salary is $12,097 to the end of a successful 6-month orientation period when it will increase to 2.5% to $12,399. Benefits include paid holidays, vacations, and sick leave; membership in the North Carolina Retirement System.
NATURE OF JOB: Performs computer-based tasks, general circulation and reference, understanding of a wide range of computer applications and internet use, shelving library materials, clerical duties, and additional duties as assigned. Work is performed under the direction of the Branch Library Manager.

TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: Required: Associate’s degree; excellent computer skills, including Internet searches, experience with productivity software, familiarity with mobile electronic devices and social media; 2 years experience working with the public; or, any combination of training and experience providing the required skills and knowledge. Must be a team player, have outstanding customer service and managerial skills, enjoy working with the public, and be detail-oriented. Must be able to multi-task, lift 30 lbs, and stand for extended periods of time. Preferred: 4-year bachelor’s degree
