Community dinners - Hosted by area churches. Meals and fellowship are offered free of charge to everyone in the community. Held on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month through November.
Adult coloring club - Join the club to share in the relaxation of coloring in the calm library environment while getting pointers from other club members on coloring techniques. Held the 4th Monday of each month from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm.
Art classes - Beginning the week of September 13th, adult art classes will be held downstairs. Register through Surry Community College by calling 336-386-8121.

Common Threads Quilters Group - This creative group meets the fourth Wednesday of every month at 10:00 am in our Shelton Room. In April, the group continues making a block of the month with instruction for new quilters. Please bring fabric, cutting system, and your sewing machines. If you don't have a machine, they will share.
Adult Coloring - Celebrate Spring and enjoy coloring with friends. Coloring is a great way to reduce stress and anxiety, train your brain to focus, and improve fine motor skills and vision. Coloring pages and supplies will be provided, or you can bring your own.

Friends of the King Public Library Spring Book and Rummage Sale - Join us for our annual Spring Used Book & Rummage Sale! You'll find some great deals on gently used books and household items. We are also accepting donations for this sale. These can be dropped off any time that the library is open.

Tuesday, April 11th 10:30 am - Preschool Storytime Easter Egg Hunt. Ages 2-5 are invited to join us for some stories and then our own Easter egg hunt! Don't forget to bring your basket!
Tuesday, April 11th 7:00 pm - Book Club. April's title is The Round House by Louise Erdrich.
Thursday, April 20th 6:00 pm-7:30 pm - Teen Open Mic Poetry Night. Open to 6th-12th graders. Read original poetry, or have some from a favorite author! Don't want to perform? No problem! Come have a snack, listen & be inspired! We'll play poetry games, discuss some basic elements of writing poetry, and create our own Blackout Poetry.
Thursday, April 27th 6:00 pm - Harry Potter Alliance meeting. Wizards of the Round Table is a chapter of the Harry Potter Alliance, an international non-profit dedicated to building relationships and promoting social change through pop-culture fandoms such as Harry Potter, Marvel, Hunger Games, Pokemon, etc. Open to all teens and adults with a desire to meet fellow "geeks" and a passion for improving the world around them. Mondays 5:00 pm-6:00 pm - Spanish Class for adults.
Wednesdays 4:00 pm - What's Your Story?. A class for those who would like to learn to trace their genealogy using Ancestry.com.
Community Book Club meets the 4th Wednesday of each month at 1:00 pm. New members are always welcome!
Wednesdays 4:00 pm - Magic Tree House Book Club for kids.
Thursdays 6:00 pm - Adult Coloring Class. We have supplies to get you started, or bring your own.
Teen Library Club, called Choices, meets on the 1st Thursday of each month, kids aged 12-19 are encouraged to attend.
Pajama Story Time is at the library every Thursday night for children aged pre-K through 3rd grade. Kids may come dressed in their pj's and bring their favorite cuddle toys. We'll tell bedtime stories, do some relaxing exercises, and participate in activities that pertain to the story. Free and open to the public.
Fridays 10:00 am - Tai Chi. The Tai Chi class is for everyone, but especially for those with conditions, such as arthritis, that limit mobility. Those who attend should wear comfortable clothes that do not limit movement. The class is led by instructor Brack Llewellyn.
