Here are upcoming events that are taking place throughout our region.

Boonville Community Public LibraryMonday, February 27th 6:30 pm - Friends of the Boonville Community Public Library meeting.
Charles H. Stone Memorial Library
Community dinners - Hosted by area churches. Meals and fellowship are offered free of charge to everyone in the community. Held on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month through November.
Adult coloring club - Join the club to share in the relaxation of coloring in the calm library environment while getting pointers from other club members on coloring techniques. Held the 4th Monday of each month from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm.
Art classes - Beginning the week of September 13th, adult art classes will be held downstairs. Register through Surry Community College by calling 336-386-8121.

Common Threads Quilters Group - This creative group meets the second Monday of every month at 6:00 pm in our Shelton Room.
Thursday, February 16th 2:30 pm - Free Legal Aid Clinic: Divorce Clinic. Please call 1-866-219-5262 or visit www.legalaidnc.eventbrite.com to register.
Tuesday, Feburary 21st - Yoga. Join 200 hour yoga certified instructor Diane Blakemore for 5 weekly, hour long classes beginning Tuesday, February 21st. Wear comfortable clothes and bring your own mat or large towel. Class is for all skill levels. Cost is a donation. Adults 18 and older.
Wednesday, February 22nd - Members of the quilter's group will teach how to make a quilt block. Anyone interested should bring two coordinating fabrics in quarter yard sections. Everything else will be provided to learn how to make a nine patch block.
Thursday, February 23rd 10:30 am - Breakfast and a movie: Inferno (rated PG-13). The movie is free. This is an adult program for ages 18 and older. A light breakfast, coffee, and water will also be provided by LGFCU. You are welcome to bring in your own snacks, drinks, and a comfy lawn chair.
Thursday, March 9th 6:00 pm-7:30 pm - Get Creative with Technology for Teens. Celebrate Teen Tech Week with us in our Gentry Technology Center. We'll explore word cloud generators and create digital light art that can be used as screensavers. This program is for teens in 6th-12th grades only (parents and siblings are welcome to wait in the library). Snacks will not be served at this program because we will be in the computer lab. Registration is required and this program is limited to 10 teens! To register, call 336-983-3868 or sign up at the circulation desk.
Mount Airy Public Library
Wednesdays 4:00 pm - What's Your Story?. A class for those who would like to learn to trace their genealogy using Ancestry.com.
Community Book Club meets the 4th Wednesday of each month at 1:00 pm. New members are always welcome!
Wednesdays 4:00 pm - Magic Tree House Book Club for kids.
Thursdays 6:00 pm - Adult Coloring Class. We have supplies to get you started, or bring your own.
Teen Library Club, called Choices, meets on the 1st Thursday of each month, kids aged 12-19 are encouraged to attend.
Pajama Story Time is at the library every Thursday night for children aged pre-K through 3rd grade. Kids may come dressed in their pj's and bring their favorite cuddle toys. We'll tell bedtime stories, do some relaxing exercises, and participate in activities that pertain to the story. Free and open to the public.
Fridays 10:00 am - Tai Chi. The Tai Chi class is for everyone, but especially for those with conditions, such as arthritis, that limit mobility. Those who attend should wear comfortable clothes that do not limit movement. The class is led by instructor Brack Llewellyn.
