POSITION: Library Program Assistant
PLACE: King Public Library
HOURS: Twenty-five hours per week. Evening hours and some Saturdays required.
SALARY: Annual salary is $13,127 to the end of a successful six month orientation period when the salary will increase to $13,455. This is Grade 11, Entry Level on the pay scale. Benefits include paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave; membership in the North Carolina Retirement System.
NATURE OF JOB: Performs basic computer based library tasks: book circulation, helping with internet and reference questions, shelving books, creating children’s library programs; additional duties may be assigned. Work is performed under the direction of the Branch Librarian.
WHEN OPEN: Immediately
TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Associates Degree required; must be a team player; outstanding customer service skills; excellent computer skills required; must enjoy working with the public; detail oriented; must have the ability to multi-task. Must be able to lift 15 lbs. and must be able to stand for extended periods.

POSITION: Acquisitions/Business Office Assistant
PLACE: Northwestern Regional Library
HOURS: 25 hours per week
SALARY: $15,196, increased to twenty-eight hours per week after completion of successful orientation a six month orientation period.
NATURE OF JOB: Performs specialized technical and/or clerical work under the direction of the Business Officer. Employee will perform acquisitions of books, audio visual materials, and periodicals, plus other assigned tasks in the business office including assisting with payroll Excellent computer skills required. Must be a team player with the ability to multi-task and accept various additional assignments.
WHEN OPEN: IMMEDIATELY
TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Associates Degree is the minimum education requirement; Bachelor's Degree highly desirable. Excellent knowledge of computer fundamentals is required.
1 to 2 years of experience in technical library work, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skill knowledge, and abilities to do the job.
